Digging Deep
Digging Deep - An Artist's Journey
Something different to mark the turning of the year - nine visions for the price of one! "How did that come about", you might ask? In short, as the heading suggests, it happened through a little inspired digging.
Furnace, December's focal vision, I gradually came to realise, had commanded my attention for far longer than the prescribed timescale in that its effects lasted not one month but three (at least). Furthermore, the depths, layers, and coping strategies buried in the depths of my psyche that were exposed through contemplating its gifts could only be attributed to my willingness to embrace all that arose from the dark; 'Will-to-Evolve,' Furnace's Soul alignment quality, ensured I could no longer be ruled by unconscious reactive dictates rooted in the past, I had to let them go.
In so doing curiosity blossomed and, as a phoenix arising from the ashes of its former self, my wonder-filled child embarked upon an adventure that would reveal, not only the layers that contributed to the finished vision, but the depth of synthesis available to all who are committed to embracing, loving, and accepting themselves, just as they are - warts and all. Created in 2016, some seven years ago, and with a filing system so ordered I can never find anything, this was no small feat! But, after sifting through the contents of three hard drives, find it, I did! The nine is the result, but that is only half the story...
Furnace is unique in that, not only does it have nine layers (significant in and of itself), but it also features a vision in every layer; a complete vision of reality, an integral facet of the inner diamond, and with its own Soul alignment quality - WOW! My jaw dropped when I realised the signifance of these findings - truth be known, I am still somewhat in awe of all that has been uncovered. Here's why...
Layers within layers
I'll do my best to keep this simple! Firstly, it is important to acknowledge Spirit is everything (and nothing). Whether being expressed as light or shadow, spirit or matter, human or divine, animal, bird or planet, there is nothing than isn't it. However, there are circumstances or appearances that create the impression that Spirit is other than it is. These circumstances act as veils that prevent us from experiencing life as it really is, or from knowing ourselves as we really are. All we have to 'do' then is to remove these veils or obscuration's to Truth and we can begin to live a way of wholeness. Easier said than done, but a very good place to start is by seeing them for what they are - again, easier said than done! This month's vision then, is an attempt to present the separate faces of reality in a way that you can discern the layers from a bigger picture perspective and know you are far more than your beliefs, stories and identities.
There are many ways of working with the
'Inner Rainbow'
grid, one is shared below, others will unfold over the months ahead and yet more, including the synthesis of these pivotal facets of the diamond, will be explored through the star-tetrahedron geometry, central to both
Furnace
and
Inner Rainbow,
as and when the timing dictates. For now we turn our attention to the three horizontal planes - Spirit, Soul and matter (body).
Spirit
Bearing in mind the information shared above, this layer refers to the outpouring of Spirit as it makes its involutionary journey into matter; Hermetic principles refer to this process as the Law of Vibration but it may also be understood through this biblical quote: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." John 1:1. All life forms then, whether they are solid physical forms or the many expressions of the subtle realms of the Soul - consciousness, mind and elementals within the kingdom of nature - are thus subject to these Universal Laws. Additionally, Spirit expressed outwards, according to Ageless Wisdom teachings, has three aspects, the Divine Triad, which are inseparable from the 'Word' - Will or Purpose, Love or Wisdom, and Intelligence. This top layer of the grid then, aligns with the Divine Triad through the following visions:-
Where Conversion is the Word expressed outwards as purpose, Divine Purpose, Substance is the Love principle expressed as a continuum of consciousness, and Brilliance is Intelligence, the Universal Mind, which is most evident through observation of the natural rhythm and pulse, cyclic movement of planets, luminaries and stars, and the subtle ways of elementals and Devas (including humankind) that are governed by the Laws of Nature.
Soul
The Soul is the middle principle, intermediary between Spirit and matter. It resides on the plane of mind but mind is not its modus operandi; Love, Divine Love, is. The three visions on this plane represent aspects of this middle principle where Materialisation is the higher mind, intuition through the Buddhic principle, Presence expresses the Soul as a continuum of consciousness (continues from life to life), and Gathering is the kingdom of nature in its highest expression (the realm of the Devas and Angelic forces). This plane, then, is a meeting point, a union of those aspects of Spirit which in lower vibrations would seem to be separate yet are One in Truth.
4. MATERIALISATION | Thought-form | Mind
5. PRESENCE | Being | Consciousness
6. GATHERING | Deliverance | Intelligence as the Way of Nature
Matter
Matter is vibration expressed in its most dense form, including crystallised thought, such as tunnel vision, and encompasses planets, nebulae, stars and galaxies as well as the body aspect of all life forms, including human. Visions in this layer include photos of two outer planets, Pluto and Neptune, together with their astrological keynotes. It is here the three aspects mentioned above are at their most polarised - mind is fractured and judgemental, love is based on desire whether for a significant other or through guru worship, and the physical form is considered of most value, with consumerism, 'body beautiful' and ego demands at the forefront of all aspirations. In featuring a bigger picture perspective through planetary archetypes, these three visions offer a way out, a way to transcend the mundane, and an opportunity to befriend the shadow and embrace the full magnitude of who you really are. Their significance, astrologically and archetypal, will become clear in future 'monthly visions'.
7. TRANSCENDENCE | Regeneration | Pluto (Eagle)
8. ILLUMINATION | Inner Vision | Neptune (Compassion)
9. UNDERWORLD | Rest | Pluto (Destroyer)
In summary, the Inner Rainbow grid alongside Furnace sets the scene for the coming year (and beyond). In keeping with the three aspects of Divinity they present expressions of the multi-layered nature of human consciousness where Inner Rainbow is the bigger picture, Spirit expressed outwards as the Word, being sound as vibration or frequency, and Furnace as the unconscious shadow-self who is unaware of its own magnificence. Keep these principles in mind as life unfolds, for you and in the world at large, in the days, months (and years) ahead and use them as tools to know the multi-layered nature of your innermost self.
Hint:
Use the artwork as a way-in to intuit the planes of existence. Notice how the colours often reflect body (dark/brown/earthy), Soul (soft golden/yellow) and Spirit (white/red) aspects and allow them to lead you on a journey inwards to assist you in your daily challenges.
Furnace | Will-to-Evolve
Into the fire
Contemplation, guidance and relevance to the 'here and now' for Furnace, December's Vision for a Month, may be found here, this dialogue focus's on the visual attributes of the vision, its relevance to Inner Rainbow, and how its qualities may be employed as a 'light on the path' when walking through the 'land of shadows'.
To keep it simple we'll begin by noticing the structure. Three sections contained within a space that is, for the most part, dark, present upper and lower 'spheres' where a fiery 'egg' fused with a star-tetrahedron geometry, serves as a meeting place for both. Without going into too much detail, again to keep it simple, we'll assume the spheres, each a perfect mirror of the other, denote Spirit and matter. The fiery space in the middle is where fusion takes place and it is here we turn our attention towards when the shadow-self is most demanding of attention. Known as the burning ground - for obvious reasons - it is the battleground where personality and soul fight for control of the emerging spiritual 'foetus'.
The nature of this burning ground from the perspective of one who has turned their attention inwards may be likened to a crucible, or melting pot, where crystallised behavioural patterns, concrete mindsets and bodies fused as steel are heated to such extreme temperatures they cannot possible survive. In entering the crucible and surrendering all to inner fire, the false self emerges, as a phoenix from the ashes of its former self, to claim its true place as servant to the Soul. How might this present in daily life, and what can you 'do' about it?
When rage arises from the core of your being (often fed by righteous indignation), it can serve as a wake-up call - if you pay attention. Distinct from anger, it grounds Spirit into matter - you - and promotes right action; anger to the contrary projects under-processed emotional baggage outwards onto others and perpetuates the 'war'. Knowing this distinction is important. Examine the root cause. Question your beliefs, your habitual reactive programs and embrace the roots of unconsciousness - powerlessness, worthlessness, and abandonment; at a core level these open doorways to the infinite, where empowerment may be rooted in Truth and responses are issued from the authentic inner you.
