Vision - Absorption

Absorption

Assimilation

Artist's journey

Gentle Jess lived up to her name for the duration of her life, almost 20 years, and as far as I can recall, unlike her brother, she rarely harmed another living creature; feline by nature she might well have been but her hunting instincts lay dormant throughout her days. A quiet, ethereal soul, she loved nature, her own company... and me. Oh, and Jonty (a cavalier King Charles spaniel)... she loved Jonty too. She outlived her sibling by some eighteen months and during her latter days she seemed to come into her own - seeking a place on my lap with Jonty, choosing to be with us, engaging with life a bit more. It was like she had stepped up to fill a space left by her far more gregarious brother to take responsibility for a role that had been his to fulfil, or perhaps she knew her days on this earth plane were numbered and she wished to savour it (and us) whilst she could.

There are many tales I could tell in honour of my gentle feline friend, of the times we shared when we were a family of four, then three, of the love that grew between us as we aged, the memories we shared, of the transition of one canine friend followed by the arrival of another,  and many more besides, but it is the manner of her passing, a day before the pagan festival of Samhain (Halloween), that I feel to be of greatest significance in respect to the naming and meaning of this vision.

It was instant. As her body lay lifeless her spirit merged with nature. It was tangible, real, and so, so light. Elementals, devas, who were so much a part of her whilst she inhabited a physical body, were there to welcome her. Jonty knew, I knew. We could feel it... Jonty could see it. As an identity, she vanished - completely. Nature responded in celebration as the veils between their world and ours fell away. At this time of writing, eleven years since her absorption, it is as if then, is now. For when Jess became one with the kingdom of nature, it became one with me, and now, as then, destiny through the life of this little feline companion, fulfilled a purpose.

A purpose in which the Spirit of nature in the garden, her helpers, and the elders of their realm could rise up to stake their claim upon the land. One in which death took a form other than physical, where two kingdoms, previously at odds, would forge a pathway as one light. One where the way-showers were the kingdom not those who believed themselves to be superior, and one where, with humble heart a member of this human race might know who and what she is not that the wrongs of ages past may be righted in an order that is Divine, not manufactured by mankind's agenda.

I had no choice but to honour the occasion. Created within two days of her passing, embracing the full magnitude of hers (and mine) expression - loss, wonderment, death, decay and dying, release and celebration - I allowed the miracle of colour to paint its own picture. When it was done I made a digital copy and played with it some more. Three visions, complete in their own right, formed layers within the finished piece - Conversion (Expression), Gathering (Deliverance) and Presence (Being). Even without seeing them as works of art, their combined energy speaks volumes when considered alongside the story of Gentle Jess and her merging with the kingdom of nature. Absorption, of course, was a most fitting title.

Now, allow your eyes to rest softly upon the vision. Step into its realm... now step back. Allow the painting to come to you... surrender all resistance... allow its presence to wash through you. Step back again. Adjust your eyes to the foreground. Can you see the blurred outline of a cat, back towards you, ears and eyes softly attuned to the vision of light that takes centre stage? Can you see her? Can you feel her presence... in you...?

Contemplation

In the end, it all comes down to choice,” she surmised. “But far more than this, it is the point of awareness at which consciousness abides when the decision is being made that is of paramount importance.” Esmerelda, following guidance from the Word, allowed her mind to toy with the meaning of ‘Absorption’. “Consciousness must be acutely aware of the origin of the cause that is being assimilated at any given moment in time. It must know whether the inflowing energy is the particle recreating itself or whether it is indeed the original Cause8 that is being assimilated.” She allowed her mind to digest these new understandings. Soon, in visionary form, there was a response from Mentor. Streams of cube-like blocks were stuffed into her crown as if she were the designated receptacle for cosmic (and any other) garbage. Recognition of the state of affairs, along with its source, was sufficient to reverse the flow; there was no requirement for analysis or rejection; it just needed to be seen for what it was to naturally return to its source. Removal of the false allowed the ever-present river of light to be revealed. “Absorption is the way of return,” said the Word. “It is the condition in

which outpouring, involutionary forces may be ‘absorbed’ in one who is on the evolutionary path of return; the resultant expression – you – is becoming.” Esmerelda smiled. “So what I allow in, what I energise, is the cause of what I give out: garbage in, garbage out; light in, light out?” “Precisely!” the inner voice replied. “All that you are now – the journeys, cellular memories, products of the past – is becoming absorbed into liquid light. Each inner letting go and surrender to the Zero allows the force of becoming to effortlessly do its work. All you have to do is get out of the way and allow it!” Now she understood. “The choice is always there – to assimilate within myself and co-create myself or to surrender to the Zero and allow Absorption to work its magic.” “Yes, the only way to get out of the repetitive cycle of self-creation is to surrender and return to the Zero. However, first you have to know yourself as an individual particle within expression; you have to know that which you are not before you may become that which you are.” It all seemed so very, very simple. Esmerelda softened inside as she sank deeper and deeper into the wonderment of Absorption. With every inner letting go, her intimate relation to the outpouring force was revealed. Each breath became an expression of its Light, each beat of her heart an expression of its Love and in abject humility, she knew, beyond all doubt and as a mere ‘particle within substance’, the vital role she played in the unfoldment of its Divine Purpose.

Guidance

“Garbage in, garbage out”: what you allow in is what you give out. How you think is how you are. As well as pondering the deeper meanings exposed within the script, consider your ‘diet’. Perhaps it is time for a change.
